The current estimates say that by 2050 there will be over 9 billions of people living on Earth (currently we are already above 7 billions).
I don’t know if we will need to find a new planet, that’s a good question!
I think they main problem may not be the fact there will not be enough space for everybody, but that we will have used all the resources available on our planet.
Mars is currently being explored as another possible place for humans to inhabit. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about that! Sometimes I think we should just concentrate on improving things on our planet rather than looking for a new one.

Alice has answered quite well. I only can add, there are no close enough planets to go to live in. Planets like Mars would require gazillions of investsments. So we’d better take care of the planet.

I think it would be quite cool to find new planets to live on… but… if we have used all of our resources here and destroyed the planet, maybe we will do the same to the new planet? maybe we need to learn from our mistakes before we move somewhere else?
