Question: Biomass can be a sustainable source of bioenergy?

  1. definitely! biomass is a source of energy that is created using material from living things (or things that have only recently died). Biomass includes plant material and food waste so it’s made from things that we always have and can easily make more of so it is very sustainable.

  2. Hi!
Biomass is definitely a great source of renewable energy. The key is the fact that biomass can re-grow over a relatively short period of time. This kind of sustainable energy has been used by humans since the discovery of fire!
The use of bioenergy could be developed and used to reduce our carbon emissions, but this would need proper international regulations. These have not been implemented so far, but maybe they will be in the future!

  3. I am not an expert in biomass energy, but as far as I know there are several promising initiatives in addition to the typical “using corn to produce biofuel”. One of the most interesting is using used cooking oil for creating fuels. Cooking oil can contaminate rivers easily if we do recycle it, and recycle it as a win-win for the environment.
